Mrs. Gomez’s 5th grade students took part in a hands-on mining simulation that brought economics and environmental science to life. Using a cookie as land and chocolate chips as valuable ore, students used tools like toothpicks and paper clips to “mine” resources. They then calculated profit and loss while learning about environmental impact and land reclamation—an engaging way to connect real-world concepts to the classroom.

Hueneme Elementary’s 5th grade dance class is hard at work practicing for their big Family Performance on the 26th! 💃🎶✨ Students are sharpening their moves, building confidence, and bringing lots of energy as they get ready to take the stage. We can’t wait to see them shine! 👏🌟

Hueneme Elementary 4th graders enjoyed a music lesson with Mrs. Crutcher that included reviewing how to read music, practicing bucket drumming, and starting to learn a new song by Imagine Dragons. A fun and energetic class filled with rhythm, teamwork, and creativity! 🎵✨

Our Bike Rodeo Assembly gave students the chance to learn all about bike safety and how to ride with confidence! Fifth graders hit the blacktop track to practice their riding skills, while younger students learned the importance of wearing helmets correctly and spotting road hazards. It was a fun and educational morning focused on staying safe and active! Great job, Hueneme Hawks! 💙🌟
